Lab Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds, also known as cultured diamonds, are created in controlled laboratory environments rather than being mined from the earth. They have the same chemical composition, crystal structure, optical and physical properties as natural diamonds. They are created using two methods: HPHT and CVD.
Lab-grown diamonds offer several advantages over mined diamonds:

  1. Ethical and Environmental Considerations: Lab-grown diamonds are considered more ethical and environmentally friendly because they do not involve the environmental impact and social issues associated with diamond mining.

  1. Cost: Lab-grown diamonds are often more affordable than natural diamonds, making them an attractive option for consumers seeking a diamond with similar properties at a lower price point.

  1. Quality Control: Since they are grown under controlled conditions, lab-grown diamonds often have fewer inclusions and defects compared to natural diamonds, resulting in stones with higher clarity.

  1. Customization: Lab-grown diamonds can be produced in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colours, offering consumers more options for customization.
It is essential to note that lab-grown diamonds are not considered "fake" or "imitation" diamonds; they are chemically and structurally identical to natural diamonds. As technology continues to advance, the distinction between lab-grown and natural diamonds may become less significant in the eyes of consumers.

At The Jewel Bar, we pride ourselves in using VVS-VS quality HPHT and CVD lab grown diamonds.
